Qfix Announces Launch of Portrait™ S-Frame with Integrated Shim System™ for Head and Neck Radiotherapy Treatment
October 16, 2015
Today Qfix (www.Qfix.com), a world leader in radiotherapy patient positioning devices, announced the launch of the new Portrait™ S-Frame with Integrated Shim System™, a revolution in head and neck radiotherapy treatment, during the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), Oct. 18-21 at San Antonio’s Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The Portrait S-Frame with Integrated Shim System is a highly advanced immobilization system designed to be used in conjunction with S-Type devices allowing the clinician to quickly and effortlessly adjust shim height at independent points, resulting in effective, efficient and highly customized treatments. The Portrait S-Frame with Integrated Shim System builds upon Qfix’s existing technologies by incorporating an innovative shimming feature which provides a 4 mm range of height adjustment utilizing discrete 0.5 mm increments. The Portrait S-Frame with Integrated Shim includes the optional IntegraBite™, which conforms to the teeth or maxilla further decreasing head and neck rotation, flexion and extension.
The Portrait S-Frame with Integrated Shim provides a whole new way to maximize the patient positioning performance of your devices. “This patent pending technology revolutionizes shimming techniques in radiotherapy. This allows clinicians to achieve higher quality immobilization while improving workflow efficiency.” said Dan Coppens, CEO and Chief Technology Officer.
